Unfortunately online dating has its risks. People may deceive you in to thinking they are something they aren’t. This is always frustrating, and a complete waste of time. It can also make you more dubious with the next person you meet. It’s important to be smart about this to avoid it happening again and keep yourself free of time wasters.

If they told you they ran their own business and then you find out they work at a fast food restaurant, this is probably forgivable. It will raise the question of what else they weren’t honest about though. Be up front and let them know you don’t appreciate this, and they need to go ahead and come clean. Tell them it doesn’t matter to you if they have a great job or not. If they come clean right away you can probably ignore this faux pas.

Deceiving Photographs

Many people assume that they have to look like supermodels to find dates online. Because of this, it’s not uncommon to talk to someone who’s photo is not really theirs. These people assume you will get to know them for them and will forgive this. It’s up to you whether or not you want to look past this. You shouldn’t feel guilty about leaving the first meeting though, as they were deceptive.
